Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese. I cannot believe that the inscrutable universe turns on an axis of suffering; surely the strange beauty of the world must somewhere rest on pure joy! Every man, wherever he goes, is encompassed by a cloud of comforting convictions, which move with him like flies on a summer day. Inspiration does exist, but it must find you working. Before you do anything, think. If you do something to try and impress someone, to be loved, accepted or even to get someone's attention, stop and think. So many people are busy trying to create an image, they die in the process. Meetings are indispensable when you don't want to do anything. Never read a book through merely because you have begun it.
